POC Nominee 2008 for Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany (6/4/2007)

POC has been nominated for the German Design Award 2008 for the Lobes ski goggles. Having won the award in 2007 for the Skull Comp helmet, POC is proud and honored to yet again find itself among the nominees for this prestigious award.

The Designs Award of the Federal Republic of Germany is the only official design award in Germany. It is awarded by the Federal Minister for Economics and Technology and organized by the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung). Companies cannot enter for the Design Award; instead, products are nominated either by the Ministries of Trade & Industry of the individual states or by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Moreover, a precondition for being nominated is that a product has already been awarded a national or international prize. No other Design Award sets its entrants such a strict criterion. Because of this the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany is called the "prize of prizes" by many opinion leaders in the world of design.
