POC Receptor Team member Tanner Hall wins Ski SuperPipe X Game Gold! (1/25/2008)

The US legend and X-games Gold Medalist, Tanner Hall did it again and won perhaps the most important contest of his life, another duel with his buddy Simon Dumont.

Tanner and Simon have a history of duels at the Winter X Games in ski Super Pipe.

"The last few years, it's been Simon and me, and he took it to a serious level. This kid right here next to me pushes me harder than anyone else in the half pipe", says Tanner Hall.

It was hardly a surprise Tanner topped the podium. His runs were innovative and flawless with a smooth style and perfect landings.

The medal earned him the record for most career gold medals, his seventh, and he broke the record and became the first three-peat ski Super Pipe champion. He also tied for the all-time record for most medals, with 10, and became the first rider to win three titles in two different disciplines.

Perhaps it is Tanner's training method that keeps him at the top. While his competitors fine tuned their runs in the pipes two weeks prior to the game, Tanner choose to ski powder in the mountains. Compared to many other competitors Tanner does not train pipe every day and only takes part in one or two pipe contests a year.

"I don't think they're overtraining, man, for me, it's just my love for skiing and my passion. I want to experience every aspect of it". Says Tanner Hall.
